▎About the Artists:

  • Lin Chuan Chu: He is an ink painter and a freelance writer who combines the spirit of literati and peasant who was born at the farmhouse in Wanli. His works pay attention to the relationship between human and land, from farming to art in great varieties of art such as landscape, installation. Also, he was invited to present a "Rice for Thoughts" exhibition at the Museum of Tomorrow from JUT Art Museum. At the same time, he played the roles of artist and farmer and practiced the life of ancient literati which is a farm on sunny days and study in rainy days.
  • Lee Chi-Hsiung: Graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts Masters Program in 2010. It was in his years during undergrad when Lee developed his art with realism as his main focus. Stained glass windows; which is a common element in the 1960s Taiwanese residencies have been replaced by resistant glass windows through the passage of time. Lee is very much intrigued by the visual dynamics created by stained glass windows, opposed to the various developments within the field of digital media and the highly defined images that we are used to seeing in our day and age, which Lee feels has changed our habits of visual analyzation. The visual outcomes of stain glass windows vary by its patterns and surroundings, which generates narratives beyond a two-dimensional image, presents an entrance to objectify one’s own perspective into accordance. By Lee’s exceeding use of oil paint, the artist is able to capture eventful contents through the lens of stained glass windows.
  • Lan Chung-Hsuan: He developed his work from straight photography to the readymade image, video, audio, text and multimedia installation in recent years. His art examines freedom, inheritance, man-made rules, death and compromises. Chunghsuan Lan was a resident of Arteles Creative Center, Finland and AIR 3331, Japan. He is currently living in Taipei, Taiwan.
  • Bing Wen: Grew up in Taipei, Bing was determined to pursue his dream as a sculptor in Italy. He chose the home town of one of the most famous sculptures in the world, Michelangelo’s David, Carrara to be his new base. For 15 years Bing cumulated solid experiences from both academic training and hands-on practices which laid the foundation of his future sculpturing style. Bing’s sculptures are based on the beautifying of feminine bodies with gentle curves and clever faces. Through conversations with the stone, Bing sculpted his respect to life and liberal to the void.
